Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Rochester, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4 shifts per week, 10 hours each, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)

Job Description
- Work in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Labs
- Procedures include:
- Cardiac Implant Closure Device
- Cardiac Stent Placement
- Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
- IABP Placement/Removal
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Left and Right Heart Catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Rotablader athrectomy
- Responsibilities include scrub procedures, equipment setup, maintaining sterile field, room circulator duties, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New York
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab procedures including:
- Cardiac Implant Closure Device
- Cardiac Stent Placement
- IABP Placement/Removal
- Left heart catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Rotablader athrectomy
- Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Certifications:
- ACLS
- BLS
- ARRT(R) or RCIS
Licensure
- Valid state license appropriate for Cath Lab Tech role
- Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire accepted in lieu of annual renewal
- Immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
- Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start
- COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
Background and Verification
- 7-year criminal background check required within 3 months of start (including felony, SSN trace, national criminal, sex offender, education verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and run monthly
- Foreign education equivalency evaluation required if applicable
- Employment application and work history verification required (minimum 2 past employments verified)
- References: 2 references within 3 years required for travel candidates
Competencies and Facility Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as required
- Color blindness testing required once
- Competency exam as required by specialty
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
- Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and pre-employment compliance attestations required
Additional Notes
- Candidate must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract
- Fingerprinting and additional background checks may be required for certain units (Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Home Health Aide, LTC) if applicable
- Candidates must be able to access and complete required online modules prior to start
This position is ideal for a Cath Lab Tech with at least 1 year of experience in cardiac catheterization procedures, who is comfortable with on-call duties and meets all licensure, certification, and health compliance requirements.
