CT Technologist – Acute Care (Nights)
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Hours per Week: 36
Position Summary
- Perform CT procedures and related imaging techniques in an acute care inpatient setting.
- Operate CT scanner to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists and medical staff.
- Adjust scanning parameters to optimize image quality and minimize patient exposure.
- Conduct routine quality inspections and maintenance on CT equipment.
- Assist Radiologists and medical staff during exams and procedures.
- Complete documentation and manage distribution, billing, and archiving of exams.
- Work independently and support peer training.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Montana.
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Registered Technologist with ARRT certification in Radiology (R.T.(R)) and advanced registry in CT (R.T.(CT)).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Radiology Technologist experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of CT experience in a Level I or II trauma center.
Additional Requirements
- Must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered.
- Ability to work varied shifts and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds (patients, equipment, supplies).
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods (8+ hours).
- Flexibility to work beyond a standard 40-hour week, including weekends and after-hours.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and handle physically demanding situations such as CPR or patient restraint.
Work Environment and Exposures
- Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, medications, and infectious diseases.
- May encounter emotionally challenging situations requiring de-escalation skills and professional communication.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Sound judgment, patience, discretion, and professionalism.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a busy, stressful environment.
- Proficiency with computer applications and office equipment related to imaging services.
Contract Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
- Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
