Description
Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 18:30 - 7:00)
Hours per Week: 36 (option for 36 or 48 hours)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in the Emergency Room during night shifts
- Schedule includes every other weekend
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
- Preferred minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Additional certifications may be required as applicable:
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
- NIH Stroke Certification (expires annually)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Competency Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color blindness test (online version accepted)
- Core competency exams as applicable (annual completion required)
- Unit-specific skills checklist (annual)
Additional Requirements
- Complete employment application/resume
- 7-year work history verification
- Photo headshot for badge
- Fingerprint consent form signed prior to start (New Mexico only)
- Employee vehicle registration form completed prior to start
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted
- This position requires working every other weekend
- Orientation and EPIC training attendance allowed pending fingerprint clearance, but no unit work until clearance is received (1-3 business days turnaround)
