Description
Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location
- City: Dickson, Tennessee
Employment Type
- Travel contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Full-time, 36 hours per week
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays; PRN shifts available
Unit Overview
- Unit: Women’s Services (LDRP)
- Beds: 9 LDRP beds, 1 OBED bed, 4 NICU beds, 1 OR suite
- Patient Ratios:
- Labor, inductions, C-sections: 1:1
- Couplet care: 1:3
- Newborns: 1:1 until stable
- NICU intermediate care: 1:3 (minimum 2 NICU nurses present)
- Staffing: No unit secretaries or techs; regular staff may float within the facility as needed, some cross-trained between LDRP & NICU
- Equipment: Central patient monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps
- Documentation systems: Meditech and CPN
- Patient experience: Daily rounding on all patients, including safety rounding
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Current certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
- Experience in charge nurse roles
- Labor and delivery experience including labor, recovery, newborn transition, and assessment

- Highly experienced team with several nurses having 7-30 years of experience
- Strong team environment with supportive and knowledgeable preceptors
- Opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care
- Unit recognized for certifications including Joint Commission, Stroke Center, Level II Trauma, and Level II NICU
Dress Code
- Pink and/or brown scrubs required per infant security policy
