Description

Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel Assignment)

Location: El Paso, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

Unit Type: Telemetry
Number of Beds: 24
Staffing: 41 total staff
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 2 PCTs
Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 5 patients
Equipment: GE remote telemetry
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Typical Patients: Cardiac cath lab post PACU patients (left/right heart caths, pacemakers, Watchman devices, ablations), stroke, COVID-19 patients
Call Requirements: None
Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per pay period

Job Requirements

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Competent in interpreting cardiac rhythms

Comfortable working with a hands-on Director
Scheduling is flexible with self-scheduling options and consideration for time-off requests

Dress Code

Scrub colors: Galaxy blue for nurses, hunter green for PCTs
Not acceptable: hooded sweaters/jackets, full pull-over sweaters, fanny packs, Crocs shoes

Additional Information

Daily huddles at the nurse’s station at shift start (6:45 AM or 6:45 PM) are mandatory
Bedside shift reports and updating patient communication boards are expected
The unit has a mix of tenured staff and new RN graduates
