Description

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Labor & Delivery unit with 16 beds and approximately 40 staff members
  • Day shift staffing: 6 RNs (including 1 charge nurse and 1 scrub tech)
  • Night shift staffing: 5 RNs (including 1 charge nurse and 1 scrub tech)
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio typically 1:2, may fluctuate based on acuity
  • Equipment includes GE fetal monitor system
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems: CPN, Meditech

Typical Procedures

  • Cerclages
  • Versions
  • Cesarean sections (C-sections)
  • Vaginal deliveries
  • Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
  • Care of fetal demise
  • Epidurals
  • Circulating during C-sections
  • Care for both low-risk and high-risk obstetric patients

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications:
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with mom/baby couplet care
  • Comfortable caring for unblocked/unepiduralized patients
  • Strong collaboration skills with physicians, midwives, and doulas
