Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Centralia, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Room setting.
- Float within scope of practice as needed.
- Weekend shifts are required.
- No on-call duties.
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel contract.
- First-time travel nurses are accepted.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience.
- ED nursing experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
- Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification.
- At least 2 years of experience seeing at least 100 patients per day and working with 4:1 patient ratios.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification)
- Background Check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including SSN trace, Death Master Index, Nationwide and National Sex Offender checks, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, and Motor Vehicle Record if applicable.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education Verification for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report.
- WA State Patrol Search (WATCH) within 90 days of start, updated every 2 years for certain facility types.
- Employment Application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Skills Checklist updated annually (if applicable).
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Drug Testing: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable if paired with attestation.
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, and Rubella.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates.
- Fit Mask test required annually for travel candidates (effective 2/5/2024).
Facility & System Requirements
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned LMS platform.
- Epic system training modules completion required for applicable hospital systems.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with float policy and may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
- All requested Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included in submission.
- Candidates with international nursing education must provide appropriate credential verification.
- Background checks and other compliance documents must be current and meet specified timelines.
