Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General
Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 days per week, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Job Description
- Work primarily on 3rd shift (night shift) Monday through Thursday.
- Utilize Pyxis medication system.
- Document using EPIC and Phillips VUE PA systems; minimum 1 year experience with EPIC required.
- Patient population includes pediatric emergent cases such as appendicitis, pylorus stenosis, intussusception, torsion, and occasional hip effusion.
- Perform imaging for transplant program patients (kidney, liver, rarely pancreas transplants).
- Conduct NICU neonatal head ultrasounds.
- Occasionally perform breast ultrasounds from ER for mastitis or abscess checks.
- Obstetrics imaging primarily first trimester from ER; occasional limited 2nd or 3rd trimester exams for uncertain dates or to rule out ovarian torsion/ectopic pregnancy.
- No ultrasound-guided needle procedures expected; rare paracentesis may be required.
- Equipment used includes GE E10 ultrasound machines, GE Fortis and GE S8 portable units.
- High-level disinfection with Trophon 2 system.
- Scrub color: Hunter Green.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with recent experience within the last year.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ARDMS certification.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Experience with EPIC documentation system.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC documentation system.
- Must have Pediatric and Transplant ultrasound experience.
- No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers with the required specialty experience are welcome.
Additional Information
- Driver’s license required immediately upon signing for computer access and must be carried on duty.
- Candidates must comply with all background and credentialing requirements prior to start.
- Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite during orientation.
- Floating policy applies and must be signed.
- Badge photo must meet strict guidelines (passport style, no shadows, plain background).
- Online modules and testing are mandatory before starting onsite.
- Candidates must be prepared for a fast-paced, specialized pediatric and transplant imaging environment.
- Facility is latex-free; latex allergies are acceptable.
This position offers a specialized opportunity for ultrasound technologists with pediatric and transplant experience seeking a travel contract in a hospital setting with advanced imaging technology and a focus on emergent pediatric cases.
