Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Woodward, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Department Size: 10 beds
- Floating: May be required
- Local candidates not accepted (must live more than 75 miles from facility)
- Return to Office (RTO) allowed up to 5 days only
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- First-time travel nurses accepted
Requirements/Qualifications
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including LDRP (Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State-issued ID
- Utility bill in candidate’s name with matching address dated within last 3 months (address must be >75 miles from facility)
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education verification with transcript/diploma matching highest degree
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (collected within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Physical exam within 1 year stating good health and no physical limitations
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap mandatory for L&D and related units)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B: Completed series, positive titer, or declination (declinations require annual renewal)
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox (medical exemptions require approval)
- Seasonal Flu vaccine required annually (or approved medical/religious exemption)
- Hepatitis A required for pediatric-related positions (not applicable here)
- COVID vaccination strongly preferred; declinations accepted with agency form
- Fit mask testing completed onsite on first day
- Facility-specific acknowledgments and policy forms completed prior to start
- Patient Care Orientation Class attendance required
- EPIC training required if no EPIC experience within last 6 months
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (100% passing score, updated annually)
- Color Blind Testing within 60 days prior to start
- Unit-specific competency exams (80% passing score, updated annually)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (90% passing score, updated annually)
- Core Parts I, II, and III competency exams covering safety, ethics, patient care, and workplace conduct (80% passing score, updated annually)
- Conscious Sedation competency exam if applicable (80% passing score, updated annually)
References & Work History
- Two references from former direct supervisors required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
- Resume covering last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- 10-year work history verification including international positions and employment gaps
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with Oklahoma Offender Registration Act and fingerprinting requirements
- No pending state licenses accepted
- No local candidates accepted (must reside more than 75 miles from facility)
- RTO (Return to Office) restrictions: no more than 5 days allowed
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery nurses seeking a travel assignment with a structured 12-week contract and night shifts. All required certifications and documentation must be current and verifiable prior to start.
