Cardiac Cath Lab Tech
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, approximately 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
On Call: Required (average 9 days per month, including about 1 weekend per month)
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Unit Type: Cardiac Catheterization Lab
- Number of Labs: 3
- Staffing:
- 3 staff per procedure
- Day shift: 9 staff plus supervisor
- Night shift: 3-person call team
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Equipment: Philips
- EMR System: Meditech
- Typical Procedures: Standard diagnostic and complex interventional cases; high volume
- Work Environment: Very busy lab requiring a strong sense of urgency
- Dress Code: Scrubs provided by hospital
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Cath Lab Tech Certification (ARRT or RCIS required)
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Additional Information
- The unit has a high engagement score and a collaborative team environment
- Candidates without the required certifications and experience will not be considered
- Preferred candidates have 2+ years of experience
- The role involves working in a high-volume, fast-paced setting with complex cases
