Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) - Travel Position

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Work in a large hospital with approximately 800 beds and a busy diagnostic imaging department.
  • Unit is located on the 2nd floor, F tower.
  • Department uses a variety of imaging equipment including GE Rad rooms, portable GE and Shiatzu units, OEC C-arms, and Medtronics O-arms.
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner Rad Net.
  • Patient care includes diagnostic imaging, portable imaging, trauma imaging, fluoroscopic procedures, and surgical imaging support.
  • The unit supports emergency department trauma imaging and operates in a Level II trauma center environment.

Typical Work Environment

  • Day shift: ~16 technologists plus supervisor
  • Evening shift: ~10 technologists, 2 student techs, plus supervisor
  • Night shift: ~4 technologists plus supervisor
  • Weekend rotation and on-call duties required
  • Dress code: Black scrubs

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT (R) Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in radiologic technology specialty
  • Skills required in all areas of diagnostic radiology including portable and OR imaging
  • Experience with emergency department trauma imaging is essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with fluoroscopic procedures
  • Ability to perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures including trauma and surgical imaging
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team

Additional Notes

  • The position is travel assignment with approximately 36 hours per week.
  • The hospital is recognized for high clinical quality and safety standards, including Magnet® designation and top national ratings.
  • The imaging department is part of a comprehensive stroke center and Level II trauma center, providing advanced care services.
