Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:50 - 19:20)
• Schedule: Call required for 2 shifts every 6 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
• Float required between Mother/Baby unit and scrub duties
• Orientation offered biweekly

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year
• Certifications required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • STABLE certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Scrub experience required

Experience

• 3 years of nursing experience preferred (minimum 2 years with strong experience accepted)
• Prior travel experience not required

Job Requirements

• Must be able to float between Mother/Baby and scrub roles
• Call shifts and weekend coverage required as specified

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
• Criminal background check within 90 days, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and documentation required:

  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of TB)
  • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella immunity documentation (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 23 - Mar 31)

Competency and Testing

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 3 years, minimum 80% score
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually if applicable (not specifically required for this role)
• Color blindness testing required (online or in-person acceptable)
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually

Documentation and Verification

• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Employment verification for minimum 2 years within past 7 years
• I-9 and E-Verify attestation required prior to start
• Facility-specific modules (SITELS) must be completed before hire date

Additional Notes

• Orientation is biweekly on specified dates
• Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate (not disclosed here)
• Photo for badge must meet facility standards (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
