Description

Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: Endoscopy
  • Location: 3rd Floor, Building C
  • Number of Beds:
    • Pre-Op: 9 bays
    • Procedure Rooms: 4
    • PACU: 6 bays
  • Staff: Approximately 8 full-time staff members (variable day shift depending on volume; night shift is call team only)
  • Patient Ratios: Variable
  • Equipment Used: Olympus Scopes and Processors, ION, Olympus Ultrasound machine, ERBE
  • EMR Systems: Cerner, Provation

Job Description

  • Work primarily in Endoscopy with possible floating to Main PACU, Phase II, Pre-OP, and OR (if prior experience)
  • Procedures commonly performed: EBUS, Bronchoscopy, ION, EGD, Colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP
  • Surgical scrubs provided as dress code
  • Weekend and On-call Requirements:
    • 2 weekend 24-hour call shifts in 6 weeks
    • 1 night call per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (all required)
  • Scheduling flexibility required; block scheduling requests for 4 days off to travel home are not routinely accommodated

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pulmonary procedural experience is a plus
  • Personality fit: Flexible and self-motivated

Additional Notes

  • No specific unit policies or guidelines applicable beyond standard requirements
  • This is a travel assignment with a 36-hour workweek average
