Description

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Labor & Delivery unit with 19 patient rooms, 6 PACU rooms, 6 triage rooms, and 3 L&D ORs
  • Day shift staffing example: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
  • Night shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 7-9 RNs, 1 CST
  • Patient ratios typically 2:1; 1:1 for complicated patients
  • Equipment includes FHR monitors (Novii and GE), fetal scalp electrodes (FSE)
  • EMR systems used: CPN and Meditech

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care for labor and delivery patients, postpartum patients, and high-risk antepartum patients
  • Perform vaginal and c-section deliveries
  • Deliver care through nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Direct and coordinate all nursing care on the unit

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Acute Care experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN
