Electrophysiology Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, options: 3x12 hours or 4x10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM with 2 days of late case coverage per week)

Job Description
- Work in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab performing cardiac electrophysiology studies and procedures including:
- Head-Up-Tilt test
- Cardioversion
- Internal Loop Recorder placement
- Atrial flutter/fibrillation ablations
- Supraventricular tachycardia ablations
- Ventricular tachycardia ablations
- Device implants (Watchman, Aveir, Pacemaker, Defibrillator)
- Device explants and lead extractions
- Use and monitor equipment such as Philips and Siemens X-Ray machines, GE Micropacer, and preferred use of 3D mapping systems (Biosense, Abbott/ESI), ultrasound devices, and laser lead machines
- Perform EKG settings and monitoring in inpatient and outpatient settings, including obtaining vitals and interpreting sinus node rhythms
- Utilize Cerner and GE Cardiolab for charting; medication management via Pyxis
- Average daily caseload: approximately 18 cases
- Scrubs provided
- No on-call or weekend requirements; no floating required
- Unit accepts first-time travelers with required EP lab experience
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Electrophysiology Technician, including experience within the last year
- Current certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CCI certification
- RCES or RCIS certification
- Experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications: ARRT, Fluoroscopy permit
- Experience with groin closure devices, peripherals, and laser lead extraction
- Preferred work settings: Trauma and Children's Hospital environments
- Preferred equipment experience: 3D mapping systems (Biosense, Abbott/ESI), Siemens and GE ultrasound, laser lead machines
Facility & Work Environment
- Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital with a top-ranked heart and vascular center
- Total staffed beds: 748
- Charting systems: Cerner, GE Cardiolab
- Medication system: Pyxis
- Scrubs provided
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific modules prior to start
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and EKG/dysrhythmia exams with minimum passing scores
- Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during employment
- Education verification as required by position
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
- No on-call or weekend shifts required
- Local rate within 60 miles available (not disclosed here)
- Valid driver’s license required only if driving is an essential job function
