Description
Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Jupiter, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
- Call Requirement: Approximately 4 hours of call per week, typically 7 PM – 11 PM on a worked day
- No weekend shifts required
- Specialty focus includes heavy orthopedic cases and DaVinci robot-assisted surgeries
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Compliance & Background Checks
- Must pass a standard background check including 7-year location/work/school history and sex offender registry
- Annual verification of EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
- Automatic disqualification for felony, misdemeanor (including DUI/DWI), or controlled substance violations
Certifications & Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam with minimum 80% passing score (or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all RNs
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Drug screening: 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant acceptable)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination proof required prior to start; exemptions accepted with proper documentation
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year of start; if past positive, negative chest X-ray within 1 year required
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity by titer or vaccination (2 doses MMR at least 28 days apart) for those born in 1957 or later
- Hepatitis B: Proof of immunity by titer, vaccination series, or declination with negative titer
- Varicella: Proof of immunity by titer, vaccination, or history of chickenpox
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Emergency contact form required prior to start
- Completion of facility-specific HealthStream training modules during first week
- Facility parking registration form must be completed

- Two professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
