Job Description

  • Perform diagnostic sonography procedures in areas including OB/GYN, abdomen, breast, vascular, and small parts.
  • Apply sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, provide instructions, and ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
  • Select and operate ultrasound equipment and associated devices.
  • Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and proper identification.
  • Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures, including preparation and administration of contrast media and/or medications as permitted.
  • Practice aseptic techniques and initiate basic life support when necessary.
  • Provide patient education and maintain confidentiality of records.
  • Participate in quality assessment and improvement plans, including quality control duties.
  • Provide practical instruction to students and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support department inventory control and supply purchasing.
  • Participate in required education programs and other duties as assigned.
  • May be floated to other qualified patient care departments as needed.

Shift and Hours

  • Variable shift
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Ultrasound Technologist license in Oregon
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification
  • Registered OBMI and ARDMS Ultrasound Sonographer
  • Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • CRASE training (required if assignment extends beyond 6 months).

Additional Notes

  • Advanced users have in-depth knowledge of all clinical ultrasound applications and serve as in-house training resources.
  • Must demonstrate professional judgment and maintain medical ethics.
  • Supports hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
