CT/X-Ray Tech - Contract Position
Location: Hermiston, Oregon
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary
Provides diagnostic imaging services using x-ray and computed tomography (CT) to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic and CT procedures, producing images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. Ensures patient care, safety, and comfort throughout procedures, including preparation, positioning, and immobilization. Operates imaging equipment and selects appropriate protocols to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Assists with interventional and fluoroscopic procedures as needed.
Essential Duties
- Perform diagnostic radiography and CT procedures, including venipuncture for contrast administration.
- Corroborate patient clinical history and document information for licensed practitioners.
- Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Select and operate radiographic and CT equipment, adjusting exposure factors to minimize radiation.
- Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest.
- Evaluate image quality and ensure proper identification and archival storage of images.
- Verify informed consent and assist licensed practitioners during interventional procedures.
- Practice aseptic techniques and administer contrast media/medications as prescribed, in accordance with state statutes and institutional policies.
- Provide patient education and initiate basic life support when necessary.
- Float to other qualified patient care departments as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of universal precautions and hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Oregon
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- Registered CT Technologist credentials with OBMI and ARRT
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficient in venipuncture methods and capable of performing venipunctures
Additional Information
- Must have completed a CT skills check covering head, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis anatomy, and safe contrast usage.
- Ability to work variable shifts with approximately 36 hours per week.
- Participation in required education programs related to hospital accreditation standards.
This position requires professional judgment, adherence to medical ethics, and a patient-centered approach to care during imaging procedures.
