Job Opportunity: Pharmacist (Outpatient) - Travel/Contract

  • Days, Monday to Friday
  • 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • 40 hours per week guaranteed

  • 13 weeks

Job Description

  • Responsible for assuring safe medication use and dispensing medications per physician prescriptions.
  • Exercise professional judgment following policies, procedures, standards, and government regulations.
  • Counsel and educate physicians, nurses, and the community on medication use, doses, side effects, and precautions.
  • Demonstrate competencies specific to the patient population served.
  • Review, interpret, and fill prescriptions; verify orders with physicians as needed.
  • Provide technical and clinical drug information and troubleshoot medication-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate patient prescription profiles and records, including narcotics.
  • Prepare or oversee preparation and dispensing of IV medications and other specialized drug therapies.
  • Assist in overseeing pharmacy technicians and ensure accuracy and proper preparation of medications.
  • Monitor medication supplies and ensure drugs are current and adequately stocked.
  • May provide pharmacokinetic evaluation and dosing, monitor patient progress, and evaluate lab data.
  • Maintain knowledge of pharmacy developments and fulfill continuing education requirements.
  • Participate in drug utilization reviews and quality assurance activities.
  • Assist with general pharmacy operations including ordering, receiving medications, and equipment troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Clinical Pharmacist license in Michigan
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical pharmacist experience within the last year
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
