Description

Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Work in a 26-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) located next to the Operating Room on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building.
  • Patient ratio is typically 1:2.
  • Equipment includes state-of-the-art technology with EMR system Meditech.
  • Schedule includes 36 hours per week with call requirements: 1 weekend and 1 night per week (on-call only).
  • Floating assignments to Day Surgery may be required.

Unit Environment

  • Staff composition varies; day shift usually includes a charge nurse and a float nurse, night shift has 2 PACU nurses on closed on-call.
  • Procedures performed include general, neuro, oncology, orthopedics, and vascular surgeries.
  • Unit follows ASPAN guidelines.
  • Dress code: Royal Blue or hospital scrubs.
  • The unit is known for having an easy-going and pleasant team with amazing staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in ICU and PACU settings is highly preferred.
