Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Southbridge, Massachusetts (Flexible between two campuses)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
Weekend Work: Required

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Work with EPIC electronic medical records system.
• Assignment start date: ASAP.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Massachusetts with primary source verification.

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse in Emergency Department
• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN ER experience expected.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
• Fit mask test within the past year (3M 1860 Regular or Small mask).
• Immunizations or immunity documentation required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within the past 10 years.
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q Gold, or TSPOT) within 90 days of start; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire required.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required.
• COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination required; no medical exemptions accepted.
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including Marijuana/THC).

Background and Screening

• Standard background check including 7-year residential/work/school history and nationwide sex offender search.
• Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search required for all travelers in MA.
• Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance attestation required.

Competency Requirements

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• General competency exam as applicable.

References

• 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 2 years of start).
• 1 professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with recent ED experience within the last year
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or The American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or The American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Notes

• Facility requires seasonal COVID and flu vaccine documentation or declination.
• No declinations accepted for MMR or Varicella vaccines.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
