Description
Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab RN
Position Details
- Employment Type: Contractor
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts (07:00 - 17:30)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Schedule Cycle: 6-week increments with self-scheduling and manager approval
- Weekend Rotation: On-call only
- Weekend call schedule in 4-week increments requiring 2 weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday together or split)
- Weekday call includes 4-5 additional overnight call shifts per 4-week schedule
- 30-minute response time required
- No sleep room available during call
- Holiday Expectations: Possibility of being on call
- Return to Office (RTO) Approval: Up to 7 days allowed

- Teaching hospital

- Comprehensive stroke center
- 397 beds
- 3 Cath Labs
- EMR system: EPIC
- Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Phillips hemodynamics and c-arm, Merge PACS
- No floating to other units
- Orientation: 1 day on unit plus facility orientation (NEO)
Case Types / Common Procedures
- Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization (LHC/RHC)
- NSTEMI and STEMI cases
- Use of Impella, IABPs, Rotoblator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave therapy, temporary pacers
- Peripheral (leg) diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Loop recorders
- Electrophysiology (EP) procedures including Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, generator changes
- Average daily case load: 5-15 cases
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience as an RN
- Travel Experience: First-time travelers not accepted
- Licenses/Certifications:
- RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Skills:
- Moderate sedation administration (Versed/Fentanyl)
- Critical drip management
- Ability to monitor and circulate during cases
- Preferred experience with all listed case types and procedures

- Charge RN participates in cases
- Receptionist available
- Hospitalist/Physician available after hours
- Respiratory therapy support
- Manager/Supervisor on site
