Description

Pediatrics Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Seneca, South Carolina
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Summary

  • Position is for a Registered Nurse in Pediatrics.
  • NICU experience preferred but not required.
  • Must be willing to float to other units within the health system as needed, limited to units where competencies have been demonstrated.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pediatric nursing experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Certifications & Training Requirements

  • ACLS certification (check unit-specific requirements).
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) may be required depending on unit.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification if applicable.
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification if required by unit.
  • HIPAA and OSHA training acknowledgment.
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required annually.
  • Color Blindness testing if assigned to Emergency Department or Pediatric ER.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands.
  • Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation.
  • Immunizations and titers must be verifiable with official documentation.
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required by deadlines.
  • Drug screen must include marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, benzodiazepines.

Additional Information

  • Start date is approximately 3 weeks after contract signing.
  • Facility allows guaranteed hours but may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks.
  • Local candidates within 100 miles are accepted but at a reduced rate.
  • All requested return-to-office (RTO) restrictions must be submitted at time of application.
  • Free parking available onsite.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Must provide education verification (highest level completed).
  • Must complete all required background checks and verifications prior to start.
  • Must sign floating policy agreement annually.
  • Must complete contractor acknowledgment within 24 hours of contract signing.
  • Badge photo must meet specific guidelines (passport style, plain background, no obstructions).

Prior Travel Experience

This position is ideal for a pediatric RN with at least 1 year of experience, who holds the required South Carolina license and certifications, and is comfortable working night shifts with floating responsibilities within a hospital system.
