Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Variable day shifts with call
Hours per Week: 40

Job Summary

• Collaborate with healthcare team members to plan and implement patient and family education.
• Assess patient needs and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Provide leadership and contribute to professional development within the nursing practice.
• Promote health and safety, and enhance quality and effectiveness of nursing care.
• Integrate ethical standards and research findings into nursing practice.
• Maintain professional judgment, emotional intelligence, and teamwork skills in a busy, stressful environment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana.
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR).
• 1 year circulating experience.
• 1 year scrub experience.

Essential Job Functions

• Collect comprehensive patient health data and analyze to determine diagnoses.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Evaluate nursing practice against professional standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Participate in stroke competency education:

  • Two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire.
  • One hour of annual stroke education thereafter.

Additional Information

• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
