Interim Outpatient Nursing Services Manager
Location: Moab, Utah
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday – Friday, with some on-call responsibilities including weekends, evenings, and holidays
Hours per Week: 40
Job Summary
Seeking an Interim Outpatient Nurse Manager with oncology experience to manage outpatient nursing services staff (2-3 employees) and oversee program operations. This is a working manager role combining clinical duties with administrative leadership, including quality control, compliance, financial oversight, outreach marketing, and clinical supervision. The position also provides administrative on-call support as part of nursing leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead outpatient nursing services staff and program.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to outpatient infusion and nursing treatments.
- Promote outpatient treatment and build relationships with internal and external providers to increase referrals.
- Develop programs for outpatient nursing services including Oncology, Infusion, and Wound Care.
- Stay current with best practices in Oncology, Infusion, and Wound Care nursing; ensure staff training.
- Understand prior authorization, coding, and billing procedures for the department.
- Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge programs.
- Coordinate orientation and onboarding for new hires; support ongoing staff education.
- Maintain financial oversight including monthly financials and annual budget planning.
- Provide flexibility to accept additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Utah.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Wound Care experience.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Experience in supervisory or leadership roles.
- Experience with prior authorization and billing procedures.
- Oncology nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Wound Care Nurse.
- Infusion certification.

- Work environment includes Level 4 Trauma designation.
- Blue scrubs preferred.
