CT Technologist (Computed Tomography)

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 20 weeks

Job Description

• Perform all types of general CT scanning using GE CT scanners.
• Start IVs as part of patient preparation.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with high patient volumes.
• No floating or coverage of other areas required.

Equipment & Systems

• GE brand CT scanners (5 scanners in the department).
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Epic.
• Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS): McKesson.

Schedule & Shifts

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week).
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, every fourth weekend with holiday rotation.
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every third weekend with holiday rotation.
• No call or standby required.
• Holiday work is not mandatory but may be available if desired.

Orientation & Training

• 2 weeks of orientation (3 twelve-hour shifts per week) with dedicated trainer before working independently.

Dress Code

• Normal scrubs; solid colors or some prints allowed.

Required Qualifications

• Certification: ARRT (CT) and IEMA certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience with GE CT equipment required.
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred.
• Must be experienced and able to function in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Prior travel experience is required.
• Active Illinois CT technologist license or proof of application in process.
• Must comply with drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen.

Additional Information

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius.
• Facility size: 640 beds.
• No floating or coverage of other departments expected.
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours.
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty.
