Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU/PCU - Day Shift

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in ICU and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH).
• Must be experienced in all ICU/PCU areas and willing to float to the Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU) as needed.
• Identify patient and significant others' education needs and provide appropriate education.
• Ensure patient safety through preventative measures (e.g., side rails, restraints, safe equipment use) and follow restraint policies correctly.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation and troubleshooting of equipment in PCU, Telemetry, and Med-Surg areas.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures using proper documentation and standard precautions.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses.
• Accurately document charge and complete physician orders timely, including 24-hour order checks if within shift duties.
• Provide thorough change-of-shift reports to oncoming staff.
• Communicate effectively with other departments and report critical lab values to physicians promptly.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, patient rooms, and general supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience.
• Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Experience in Telemetry.
• Experience in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not required.
