Location: Salem, Virginia

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Department: CT Department - Radiology
• Location: Basement floor
• Number of Beds: 506
• Number of Staff: 14 technologists total

  • Day Shift: 1 lead, 4 technologists
  • Second Shift: 3 technologists
  • Night Shift: 1 CT technologist, 1 multimodality CT/US/XR technologist, 1 transporter
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 2 patients per technologist per hour
• Equipment: GE 64-slice CT scanners
• EMR System: Meditech

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine and angiographic CT scans as ordered by physicians, following department guidelines
• Start IVs and administer contrast injections
• Conduct weekly QA phantom scans on GE CT scanners, including measurements for contrast resolution and noise
• Work independently within the CT unit

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia
• ARRT (CT) certification
• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• Experience with GE Healthcare CT equipment
• Assessment of CT Technologist skills and knowledge or education regarding the risks of hazardous drugs according to USP 800 guidelines

Work Schedule & Environment

• Typical workweek: 36 hours
• Weekend night shift coverage required (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• On-call rotation every 6th week
• Dress code: Scrubs in dark grey, charcoal, or pewter colors
