Description
Registered Nurse - Oncology (Travel Assignment)
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Employment Type: Travel
Unit and Work Environment
- Unit: Gynecologic Oncology Infusion
- Number of chairs: 16
- Patient ratio: 4:1 (chairs at a time)
- No unit secretaries or techs available on unit
- Equipment used: Alaris Pumps
- Documentation system: MediTech Expanse
- Schedule: Monday to Friday clinic hours, no weekends or major holidays
- Floating: May float to TCT Infusion unit after orientation
- Dress code: Solid colored scrubs (Navy, Lavender, Pink, Black, Teal)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- Chemotherapy Certification by ONS provider (required)
- Able to access Port-A-Cath using sterile technique
Skills and Responsibilities
- Chemotherapy administration and patient care in infusion setting
- Access Port-A-Cath using sterile technique
- Obtain peripheral venous access
- Administer IV hydration and electrolyte replenishment
- Obtain height, weight, vital signs
- Draw labs via central venous catheter or peripheral access
Additional Information
- Experience with chemotherapy patients is required
- Orientation provided for floating to related infusion unit
- Work in a specialized oncology infusion unit with advanced procedures and technology
