Description
Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel Assignment)
Location: Bowling Green, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Unit: ICU/CCU (16 beds)
- Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1, occasionally 3:1
- Staffing: Includes unit secretaries and variable tech availability depending on census
- Equipment: Impella, GE monitors, Temporary Pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, Hemodynamic monitoring
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Floating Policy: Float in rotation with core staffing
- Scheduling: Flexible scheduling options with teamwork environment; mix of day and night shift experience among staff
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) License required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in ICU or critical care specialty
Skills & Procedures
- Critical thinking and self-motivation required
- Advanced skills needed for unit-specific procedures including:
- Central line insertions
- Dialysis catheter insertions
Work Environment & Culture
- Dress Code: Scrubs of any color allowed; no denim, capris, or camouflage patterns
- Team-oriented unit with a mix of experienced and newer staff
- Recognized for compassionate care (e.g., involvement in hospice blanket making, Daisy Award recognition)
- Emphasis on flexibility and supportive teamwork

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- ICU experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
