Description
Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract
Location: Attleboro, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Float Pool RN working primarily on Medical/Surgical Telemetry units.
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
- Coverage includes every other weekend.
- Float pool nurses may work in two different units during a 12-hour shift based on need.
- Patient population includes medical, surgical, and observation patients on M/S Tele and Tele units.
- Documentation system used: Cerner.
- Float pool staff includes Nurses, PCAs, and OAs; staff placement is based on unit needs.
- Monitoring system (Avasure) watches up to 12 patients simultaneously; staff assigned to this role require relief for breaks/meals.
- First-time travel nurses are welcome with 2-3 years of experience and experience with either Epic or Cerner.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Medical/Surgical Telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year.
- Cardiac and cardiology experience required.
- ACLS certification.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start.
- N95 fit test within the last 6 months (specific approved mask models required).
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (with medical exemption documentation if applicable)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (2-step PPD or equivalent; annual testing required only for ICU and ER units)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity via titer or vaccination (declinations not accepted)
- Hepatitis B immunity titer or signed declination (declinations accepted)
- Varicella immunity via titer or vaccination (declinations not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required September-April)
- COVID-19 vaccine required; exemptions only accepted with signed medical or religious documentation.
- Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (minimum 9-panel; marijuana testing not required).
- Background checks including:
- Standard 7-year search (SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender registry)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM
- HHS/OIG
- Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search
- Massachusetts Statewide CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) clearance.
Additional Requirements
- Badge photo (headshot with plain background) must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start.
- Completion of facility-specific compliance checklists and questionnaires (e.g., latex allergy, COVID exemption forms if applicable).
- Two professional references required within 3 years of hire.
Work Hours and Guarantees
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week for 3 twelve-hour night shifts.
- Client may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment; cancelled shifts must be full shifts.
- On-call hours do not count toward guaranteed minimum hours.
Notes
- This float pool position requires flexibility to work across multiple units.
- Experience with Cerner or Epic electronic health records is preferred.
- Cardiac experience is mandatory.
- First-time travel nurses with adequate experience are encouraged to apply.
