Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Long Term Care (LTC)
Location: Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Details
- Type: Nursing home attached to hospital
- Beds/Residents: 70 (majority private)
- EMR System: ECS
- Patient Population: Dementia, frail elderly, rehabilitation
- Interdisciplinary Team: Therapy, Administration, Social Workers, Activities, Dietary, Housekeeping
- On-site Resources: Respiratory Therapist 24/7, Pharmacy with medication dispensing system
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- RNs: 1:20
- LPNs: 1:20
- CNAs: 1:8
Job Duties & Skills
- Charting and assessments
- Charge nurse responsibilities
- Medication administration
- Clinical skills including IVs, catheters, ostomy care
- Experience working with elderly patients required
- IVs and titratable drips present on unit
- No telemetry monitors or RN strip reading required
- No attendance required for acute inpatient rehab team conferences
- Floating between units required
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Shift: Nights
- Hours per shift: 12 hours
- Hours per week: 36 hours
- Block scheduling with 4 nurses and 7 aides during day/pm shifts; 2 nurses and 3-4 aides at night
- Weekend: Every other weekend required
- Holidays: Must be available for at least half of the holidays during assignment
- No on-call or standby requirements
- Dress code: Any solid color, clean and professional
Required Qualifications
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Experience in long-term care and elderly patient care
- Valid RN license for Wisconsin
Additional Notes
- Clinicians who have previously worked at this facility must have a minimum 6-month gap since last assignment
- All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
