Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Night Shift)
Location: Big Spring, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Start Date: Within the next 3-4 weeks
First Day Reporting Location: San Angelo, TX
Job Description
- Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Room (ER) on night shift.
- 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with recent ED experience within the last year.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement.
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing.
Required Health and Immunization Documents
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
- Fit mask test within 6 months prior to start; annual updates required. Accepted masks: 3M 1860 and 3M 1860S.
- Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2 PPDs) within 1 year of start or negative chest X-ray if positive responder. Annual TB questionnaire required.
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or series with declination form if applicable)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or proof of disease)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31).
- COVID initial vaccination series required; boosters not required.
- Drug testing required within 30 days of start; must include a panel of common substances. Must have a plan to complete within 72 hours of contract signing.
Required Documentation Prior to Start
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (legal name must match all documents; proof of name change not accepted).
- Clear, passport-style photo with solid background for badge.
- Completion of facility-specific forms including:
- Non-Employee Information Form
- Vaccine Exemption Form (if applicable)
- Applicant Health Record Form
- Code of Conduct and Compliance Form
- Compact-Temporary License Declaration of Residency Form
- Confidentiality Statement Form
- Information System Security Agreement Form
- Non-Employee Orientation Update Form
- Traveler Orientation Review
- Hepatitis B Declination Form (if no positive titer on file)
- Employment application or resume.
- Two professional references within the last 3 years.
- Skills checklist updated annually.
Additional Information
- Background check must be renewed annually for direct candidates.
- Legal name must match on all license documentation, IDs, social security card, and certifications; discrepancies require immediate escalation.
- Orientation includes pass/fail testing with remediation offered same day if needed.
- Candidates must be prepared to report to a different city (San Angelo) for the first day of assignment.
