Registered Nurse – Med Surg / EICU (Day Shift)

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

Provide professional nursing care to Med/Surg and EICU patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of patient care. Adapt to changes in assignments, patient status, and unit needs while working independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process throughout patient hospitalization to deliver individualized care.
• Develop and document patient care plans based on assessments and diagnoses.
• Respond to life-threatening situations following nursing standards and protocols.
• Perform or assist with procedures per departmental policies.
• Monitor and document patient condition changes and notify providers as needed.
• Administer medications, including IV therapy, with proficiency and accuracy.
• Initiate patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Collaborate and delegate tasks to other healthcare team members.
• Maintain a safe environment and adhere to infection control and universal precautions.
• Utilize electronic medical records for order verification and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
