Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry Float Pool (Travel/Contract)
Location: Attleboro, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Overview
- Float Pool RN working primarily on Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units.
- Shift: Nights, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
- Coverage includes every other weekend.
- Float pool nurses may be assigned to 2 different units during a shift based on patient care needs.
- Patient population includes medical, surgical, and observation patients on MS and Telemetry units.
- Documentation system used: Cerner.
- First-time travel nurses are welcome with 2-3 years of experience and experience with either Epic or Cerner electronic health records.
- Must have cardiac nursing experience.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience within the last year (0 years minimum experience acceptable)
- Cardiac and cardiology nursing experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Must complete Massachusetts Statewide CORI background check and other standard background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start.
- N95 fit test within the last 6 months (specific approved mask models required).
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (with medical exemption documentation if applicable)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or equivalent; annual testing required only for ICU and ER units)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination (declinations not accepted)
- Hepatitis B immunity or signed declination (numerical titer required)
- Varicella immunity or vaccination (declinations not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required September–April)
- COVID-19 vaccine required; exemptions only accepted with signed medical or religious documentation.
- Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (minimum 9-panel; marijuana testing not required).
- Badge photo required (passport-style, shoulders up, plain background).
- Completion of facility-specific compliance checklists and questionnaires prior to start, including latex allergy questionnaire and COVID exemption forms if applicable.
- Two professional references required within 3 years for travel nurses.
Work Environment & Notes
- Float pool staff includes RNs, PCAs, and OAs, assigned based on unit needs during bed meetings.
- Use of Avasure video monitoring system for patient observation; staff assigned to monitor must be relieved for breaks and meals.
- Client may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment; guaranteed minimum hours apply.
