Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Olney, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• On-call: 8 hours per 6-week scheduling period
• Start Date: Preferred July 6
• Orientation: Available any Monday
• Baby Friendly Organization
• Labor and Delivery nurses are expected to assist with Postpartum patients as needed
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Certifications required at time of submission:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function
• Background check within 90 days including criminal, education verification, and multiple state/county searches
• I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of TB)
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
  • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Sept–March)
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
• Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to hire date

Additional Information

• Must complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required within 3 years prior to start (minimum 80% score)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required depending on unit assignment (not specifically stated for this role)
• Annual recertifications and competency exams as required by facility policies
