XR/CT Technologist - Weekend Nights
Location: Pagosa Springs, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Shift: 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Hours per Week: 36
Position Summary
- Perform diagnostic radiographic and CT imaging procedures to assist in diagnosis of disease and injury.
- Independently cover both X-Ray and CT modalities during weekend night shifts in a rural hospital environment.
- Collaborate with providers, radiologists, patients, families, and other hospital departments.
- Maintain patient safety and provide high-quality imaging services.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform quality X-Ray and CT imaging using proper positioning, technique, and protocols.
- Review provider orders for appropriateness and communicate with providers as needed.
- Administer contrast according to site-specific protocols and within scope of practice; complete required CT contrast consent documentation.
- Evaluate images for technical quality.
- Follow radiation safety practices and use appropriate protective equipment.
- Transport and assist patients safely, including use of wheelchairs, stretchers, and hospital beds.
- Complete accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Follow National Patient Safety Goals and use at least two patient identifiers.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
- Assist providers, other departments, and hospital staff as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Current ARRT Radiography certification.
- Current ARRT CT certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of CT technologist experience within the last year.
- Experience as an X-Ray technician.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Experience with Cerner electronic health records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in rural hospital, critical access hospital, or emergency imaging settings.
Work Environment
- Hospital setting with potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, communicable diseases, radiation, chemicals, hazardous materials, and stressful situations.
- Physical demands include positioning, lifting, and transporting patients and equipment.
