Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Unit Information

Medical Surgical Unit with 34 beds
Staff on Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters, 1 CNC, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs
Staff on Night Shift: 1 CNC, 5 RNs, 3 PCTs
Patient ratio: 6:1
Equipment used: Traction
Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
Brand new unit

Typical Procedures

Total Joint care
Spine care

Schedule

36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience within the last year
Experience in an acute care setting
Orthopedics experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with traction equipment
Knowledge of spine, hip, and joint precautions
ACLS certification

Candidates without at least 1 year of current acute care Med/Surg/Ortho experience will not be considered
