Urgent OB Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit / Setting
- 5-bed OB Unit including Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and Outpatient Testing
- Paper charting environment
- Equipment used: Avalon fetal monitor, PYXIS medication system, Ohmeda Infant Warmer, Neopuff, Oxygen Blender, phototherapy units (Bilibed, Neoblue), OUR 365 newborn photo system, SCD machine, Echoscreen newborn hearing, adult and neonatal crash carts, vital signs machines
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery and couplet care experience
- Skilled in care of Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum, High Risk OB (e.g., PIH, placenta abruption, prolapsed cord, placenta previa, VBAC, GDM, PTL, PROM)
- Able to manage laboring patients, observation, and NST patients
- Experience with well babies, phototherapy, and special care nursery babies
- Able to start adult and neonatal IVs, perform adult and neonatal Accu checks, PKU on newborns
- Provide newborn resuscitation, APGAR scoring, bulb suctioning, DeLee suction, assist with circumcisions
- Assist anesthesia with intrathecal/epidural administration, monitor PCA pumps, attend C-sections and newborn care, recover patients post C-section or BTL
- Administer and titrate Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin drips
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate, manage Cytotec, IUPC, internal scalp electrode, amnioinfusion
- Assist with external cephalic version (ECV) procedures
- Willingness to float to other departments if census decreases
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Fetal Monitoring (FM) certification
- STABLE certification preferred (not mandatory)
Shift and Hours
- Must be flexible to work any shift, preferably nights
- Required to work 80 hours every 2 weeks, no exceptions
- Must be able to start on the specified start date at 7:00 AM exactly
Additional Notes
- Holiday pay based on hours worked on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required
- Candidates must confirm arrival date and compliance items with the facility once confirmed
Summary
This is a short-term contract RN position on a specialized OB unit requiring strong Labor and Delivery and couplet care skills, multiple certifications, and flexibility in scheduling. Requirements / Qualifications
