Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Wisconsin

Job Details

• Location: Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights (18:30 - 07:00)
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Unit: Emergency Department with 19 ED/Urgent Care beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
• Patient Population: STEMI, trauma, stroke, COPD, CHF, sepsis
• Schedule:

  • Block scheduling available to some extent for night shifters
  • Weekend requirement: Every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Holiday requirement: Every other holiday
  • No floating requirements
  • Occasional low census call

Responsibilities

• Interpret cardiac strips (no monitor techs available)
• Titrate drips including Propofol, Cardizem, and insulin
• Charge Nurse may take patient assignments
• Clock in and out at the facility
• 1 day of house-wide training and 1-2 days of department orientation
• 24/7 Respiratory Therapy support available for vents, CPAP, BiPAP
• Willingness to train to House Supervisor is a plus

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• Nurse aids may be present occasionally but not consistently
• No required scrub colors
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
• Local candidates within 80 miles may have different pay considerations (not included here)
