Description
Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical
Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Patient care includes diagnoses such as Sepsis, CIWA, Confusion, AMS, COPD, Post-op care, AKI, Trauma, Respiratory failure, Bowel obstruction, Pyelonephritis, Cardiac conditions, Diabetes, GI conditions, Isolation, and Suicidal Ideation with medical indications.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- Charting system: Epic
- Must work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
- 100-mile radius rule applies; no local candidates accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Essential Job Functions
- Apply the Nursing Process across all age groups: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Thorough documentation following regulatory and hospital standards.
- Maintain clinical competencies and support professional development.
- Deliver care in a fast-paced, changing environment using sound judgment and best practices.
- Utilize computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records.

- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements only.
- Candidates must consent to E-Verify or attest as applicable.
- Medical and religious exemptions for vaccines require proper documentation and approval.
- Candidates must not have local residence within 100 miles of the facility.
