Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (Pediatrics) - Travel/Contract

Position Details

  • Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Speech-Language Pathology, Pediatrics)
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift Options:
    • 4x10 schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM; Friday 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
      OR
    • 5x8 schedule: 3 days 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM and 2 days 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • No weekend shifts
  • Visits per day: Approximately 9
  • Patient Age Group: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
  • Work Setting: Pediatric Outpatient

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Michigan
  • Minimum of 1 year of Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
  • Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist experience
  • Experience in an outpatient setting
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Documentation and Systems

  • Documentation System: Wellsky/Epic
  • Provider Support: Interpretation services, physical therapy, unit secretary available

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check within 12 months of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required annually
  • Fingerprinting:
    • Michigan: Use MI LARA fingerprint results; fingerprint clearance must be on file prior to start
    • Ohio: BCI and FBI fingerprint results required for certain units (not applicable here)
  • Education verification required (highest level)
  • Professional references: 2 required within 2 years, including at least 1 from a leader (Charge RN or above)
  • Skills checklist required for all candidates

Certifications (as applicable)

  • BLS (AHA provider, instructor, or RQI cards accepted)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit/job description but not specified here

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam: Physician statement within last 12 months (latex-free PPE available)
  • N95 Fit Test: Required within 12 months of start and updated annually; onsite completion possible with approval if needed
  • Immunizations/Vaccinations:
    • Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted except for certain facilities)
    • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 3 months of start; must be updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or approved medical/religious exemption required
    • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or approved exemption required
    • Hepatitis B: Series, positive titer, or declination accepted
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine or approved exemption required during flu season (10/1–3/31); declinations not accepted during flu season
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable unless on prescription medications)

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of a time-sensitive agency form at least 10 days prior to start, including submission of a professional headshot for badge printing (photo must be head/face only, plain background, no filters)
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams as applicable by profession
  • Compliance with facility dress code and policies

This position offers a flexible schedule with no weekend work, serving pediatric patients in an outpatient therapy setting. It is suitable for Speech-Language Pathologists with pediatric experience seeking a travel contract opportunity.
