Description
Registered Nurse – Float Pool (Night Shift)
Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract (8 weeks)
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced RN to work primarily in ICU units including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU. The role requires ICU experience with flexibility to float to Medical Surgical units as needed. Extensive cardiac experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Administer medications and treatments according to nursing standards, policies, and state laws
- Document care in compliance with standards of care
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education
- Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support patient care across units
- Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and escalate concerns appropriately
