Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU/PCU - Day Shift

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in ICU and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH).
• Must be experienced in all ICU/PCU areas and willing to float to the Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU) as needed.
• Identify patient and family education needs and deliver education using appropriate methods.
• Ensure patient safety through preventative measures such as side rails, restraints, and safe equipment use; follow restraint policies correctly.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation and troubleshooting of equipment in PCU, Telemetry, and Med-Surg areas.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures with proper documentation and use of standard precautions.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses.
• Accurately document charge and complete physician orders timely, including 24-hour order checks if within shift duties.
• Provide thorough change-of-shift reports to incoming staff.
• Communicate effectively with other departments and report critical lab values to physicians promptly.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, patient rooms, and general supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
• Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification

• Prior travel experience is required.
