Unit Information

• Unit: Cardiac ICU
• Number of beds: 16
• Number of staff: 60
• Patient ratio: 1 RN to 2 patients
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 1 CNC/Charge RN, 8 RNs, 1 PCT (for census >14, 12 hours total/day, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM)
  • Night Shift: 1 CNC/Charge RN, 8 RNs, 1 PCT (for census >14, 12 hours total/day, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM)
• Equipment used: Cardiac monitoring, ventilators, IV pumps, tube feed pumps, Swan Ganz catheter
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Colorado
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with neuro and medical ICU populations
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR

Typical Procedures Performed

• Intubations
• Central line placement

Work Hours

• Approximately 36 hours per week
