Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Buffalo, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Shift times:
    • Wednesday and Thursday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
    • Friday to Sunday: 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM (overnight weekend position)
  • Weekend requirement: Every weekend
  • Call requirement: None
  • Block scheduling: Not allowed
  • Flexibility: Overnight weekend shift is fixed; other two days are flexible
  • Hours per week: 40 hours

Job Details

  • Daily caseload: Approximately 50 patients
  • Number of rooms: 2
  • Work settings required: Outpatient, Inpatient, Operating Room (OR), Emergency Room (ER), Community Hospital
  • Required general skills: PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
  • Preferred skills: IV starts
  • Required CT procedure experience: abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, CT angiographies (CTAs)
  • Preferred equipment experience: Toshiba scanners

Required Qualifications

  • CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in both Inpatient and Outpatient settings
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Proficiency with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
  • Experience with IV starts

Compliance and Background Checks

  • Criminal background check required within 1 year of start date, including:
    • 7-year Minnesota statewide search
    • Sex offender registry
    • Other standard checks (SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 1 year of start
  • Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance required before start; candidates cannot start with fingerprints pending unless a “more time needed” letter is provided
  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start required
  • Drug testing: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (not required for client clearance)
  • Respiratory safety clearance (RespSafety) required prior to start for fit testing
  • Photo for badge: Passport-style headshot required within 48 hours of signing

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) vaccine required after age 11; declinations not accepted without approved exemption
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start; TB results must be on file no later than 3 days after start
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer required; no exemptions for patient-facing roles
  • Hepatitis B: Positive IGG titer, proof of series, or signed declination required
  • Varicella: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines required; no medical/religious exemptions accepted
  • Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required for 2025-2026 season starting September 1, 2025; declinations accepted

Training and Competency

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
  • Competency exam required (MS competency exam acceptable for PreOp)
  • State license primary source verification required
  • Preorientation online learning modules must be completed within 72 hours of receiving access; modules take 3-9 hours depending on specialty
  • Skills checklist required annually

Additional Notes

  • This is a latex-free facility; candidates with latex allergy should be aware latex is not used on campus
  • Will work every 3rd weekend (note: weekend shifts are every weekend, but rotating weekend coverage may apply)
