Description
Perioperative RN - Contract Position
Location: Moab, Utah
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, Monday-Friday, 5x8's (36 hours/week)
On-Call: Rotating on-call responsibilities including evenings, weekends, and holidays; average 7-9 call days per month with a 20-minute response time to the hospital
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care before, during, and after surgical operations and procedures
- Work efficiently with high attention to detail and a strong focus on patient safety
- Adapt to a variety of situations in a rural hospital setting, responding quickly and accurately
- Opportunity to expand nursing skills, including pre-op, PACU, circulating in General, Orthopedic, and OB cases (including C-sections)
- Support trauma cases in the Emergency Room as needed
- Confidently care for surgical patients during emergency call shifts as the only OR nurse in-house
Required Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Utah or compact state
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
- Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
- Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions
- Strong communication skills (oral, written, listening)
- Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful and changing situations
- Physical and emotional stamina to meet job demands
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of surgical operation procedures
- Prior experience in pre-op and/or PACU
- Skilled in pre-op, PACU, and circulating for General, Orthopedic, and OB cases
- Experience with trauma cases in the ER
- Confidence in managing surgical patients independently during night emergency calls

- Level 4 Trauma facility
- Blue scrubs preferred
