Description

MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule

  • Shift: Tuesday to Friday, 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM (4x10-hour shifts)
  • No on-call requirement
  • Must be available to work one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational basis)
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Locals not accepted; first-time travelers accepted

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification required
  • State license verification required (Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start)

Required Clinical Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Siemens MRI equipment required
  • Epic electronic health record experience required
  • Work settings: Adult Acute Care, Adult Outpatient, ER/Trauma
  • Imaging experience with:
    • Abdomen/Pelvis
    • Diffusion (non-brain)
    • Gradient Echo Imaging
    • Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP)
    • Multiplanar Reconstruction (MRP)
    • Perfusion
    • Spin Echo Images
    • Surface Coils
    • T1 and T2 Weighted Images
    • Spine, Head and Neck
    • Musculoskeletal
  • Radiation safety knowledge required

Floating Requirements

  • May be required to float to other nearby facilities within the same city

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID with an address more than 100 miles from the facility is required within 48 hours of signing
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • 7-year background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, completed within 1 year of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals/extensions
  • Education verification of highest earned degree required
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming freedom from communicable diseases
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Fit test for mask within 1 year of start, updated annually (if applicable)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Required immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Flu vaccination documentation or signed declination with masking during flu season
  • Professional photo for badge (no selfies or filters, plain background)
  • Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
  • Orientation manual review and acknowledgment required before start

References & History

  • Two clinical references required (hospital evaluations accepted)
  • Complete employment application/resume required
  • Annual update of skills checklist required

Requirements/Qualifications

  • MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
  • MRI Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
  • Experience working in an Acute Care setting
  • Experience working in an Outpatient setting
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required
  • This is an evening shift position with no call responsibilities
  • Must comply with facility radius rules for travel distance from home address
  • Floating may include multiple nearby hospital locations within the city

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with Siemens and Epic experience seeking a 13-week travel contract in an acute care, Level I Trauma Center environment.
