CT Technologist (Computed Tomography)

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 20 weeks

Job Description

• Perform general CT scanning procedures, including all types of general CT scans.
• Start IVs as part of patient preparation.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with high patient volumes.
• Operate GE brand CT scanners.
• Use Epic EMR and McKesson PACS systems.
• No floating or coverage of other areas required.

Schedule & Shift Details

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (either 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
• Weekend rotation: every 3rd or 4th weekend depending on shift (days: Sat/Sun; nights: Fri/Sat).
• Holiday rotation included but no mandatory holiday shifts required.
• No call or standby requirements.
• Dress code: Normal scrubs, solid colors or some prints allowed.

Orientation & Training

• 2 weeks of orientation (3 twelve-hour shifts per week) before working independently.
• Dedicated trainer assigned during orientation.

Facility & Department Info

• Large facility with 640 beds.
• CT department has 5 GE CT scanners.

Required Qualifications

• ARRT (CT) certification.
• Illinois Emergency Medical Agency (IEMA) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with GE CT equipment required.
• Ability to start IVs.
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred.
• Prior travel experience required.

Additional Notes

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius.
• Drug-free workplace; negative drug screen required for all panels.
• No call or holiday work required but may be available if desired.
• Non-billable orientation hours (12 hours) do not count toward guaranteed hours.
