Description

Respiratory Therapist

Location: Concord, Massachusetts
Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other weekend, rotating holidays, no call
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services for inpatients and outpatients of all ages. Works independently and collaborates with physicians and nursing staff to determine and apply therapeutic modalities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform respiratory care procedures following departmental and hospital policies.
  • Evaluate, treat, and reassess patients of all ages per physician orders.
  • Assist in orientation and training of respiratory and nursing personnel.
  • Participate in Code Team and Rapid Response Team.
  • Provide patient and family education.
  • Engage in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and departmental education activities.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Assist with special projects, equipment, and inventory control.
  • Maintain patient rights to care, privacy, and respect.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (must be current upon submission and hire)
  • High school graduate or equivalent
